 | Playing policy | |
With PES 2009 we're back to one player hosting the full match, so please always try to play two matches against an evo-league opponent, one as client and one as host. For now this is not a strict rule but a matter of fair play, as our aim should always be to give everyone a fair match.
Our players have different setups and problems - for example, some might be able to play fine as client but cause a lot of lag when hosting. Talk to your opponent about your playing experience to work out your best setup. If you have problems or other info to share, please do so by posting in the PES 2009 Online thread. |

 | Small update | |
I've updated the site with new dynamic menus and added the new teams for PES 2009. You can read about and comment on the update here.
To warm up for bigger events, the first mini tournament will take place in the chat this Sunday at 21.30 CET. You can signal your interest here to tell us what you would like.
Finally, when you start playing PES 2009, don't forget to edit your profile to add PES 2009 to your games and set it as default game so you don't report wrongly! |

|
 | PES 2009 is out! | |
The wait is finally over - some already received it early, but PES 2009 should be available for all major platforms in stores this Wednesday. Go grab your copy!
evo-league supports reporting PES 2009 games for PC, XBox 360 and PS3 from now on. Don't forget to edit your profile and add PES 2009 to the list of games you have. Also, set 'Default game' to the version you will play the most so it's preselected when you report a game.
All your impressions, questions and suggestions should go in the all new PES 2009 online thread.
Let's get playing! |

 | Demo out! | |
The PES 09 demo is out! Most people seem to like it so far, but of course you can't please everyone. You can read and post your own impressions of the demo in the PES 2009 - Impressions thread!
As planned, season 37 ended yesterday with Skillardinho winning his second league title, moving him up to the 8th place in our Hall of Fame. Congratulations!
Of course, you'll be able to play evo-league games with PES 09 for all platforms as soon as it is available in stores. |

 | PES 2009 demo out soon | |
According to the guys over at winningelevenblog.com, a playable PES 2009 demo will be released this Thursday on PC, XBox 360 and PS3.
The official release date for the game is currently set to Friday, October 17th, but from past experience it is likely this may be delayed for a week or two, so don't get your hopes up too high.
As usual, you can discuss all news in the chat and our PES 2009 Discussion thread. |

|
 | Not enough players | |
We couldn't make it. Only three reliable players signed up for the inter-ladder challenge we had planned for tonight, so we have to call it off.

Let's all hope for a better PES 09, giving us the necessary amount of players to have tournaments and challenges like we did with PES6. |
|
|
|
 | New season underway | |
The long 36th season is over, the winner is TurkMania who moves to the top spot of the Hall of Fame with 72 points. Congratulations!
This season will have a fixed timeframe of two months. As it is still quite calm on the games front, you might be able to get into the award ranks with just a few good games. Let's hope things get busy again with PES 2009.
For the latest news and rumors about the new game, be sure to check out and post in our PES 2009 - News and Discussion thread! |

 | Season to end this month | |
Now that we've had some more games played recently, we're ending the season at the end of the month. This might be a good time for a final spurt to make it into the top 6 - it's never been easier!
A few new players have signed up recently, and most of them are finding it hard to get a game. Please be patient and don't leave the chat instantly, many of you just keep missing each other. To all you regulars taking a break and waiting for the new game - dust off the good old PES 6 or 2008, play a few games and make our new players feel welcome! |

|
 | PES 2009 coming this autumn | |
After months with no hard facts on the new game, PES 2009 is now officially confirmed to come out this autumn for all major gaming platforms (except the Wii).
Links to all news and what we make of it can be found in the PES 2009 - News and Discussion thread.
Go read and participate! |

|
 | Season ending delayed | |
| This month has probably been the least active in our history, so we decided not to end the season at this point. This is only fair to our previous champions who had to fight hard for the top spots. Stay tuned! |

 | Small update | |
While the league is pretty calm these days, I've found the time for a little site update. The latest forum posts are now shown in the info box on the right. When the post was made within the last six hours, this will be indicated with green text. Keep the mouse over the topic title to see the post text. Click the 'Recent...' headings for the complete lists.
If you find it hard to get a game, we can only encourage you to make appointments with other players using the forum by posting in this thread. Don't forget you can also stay in touch by subscribing to one of our newsfeed links in the bottom right corner, eg. the evo-league forum feed! |

 | Site and forum quirks | |
As you may or may not have noticed, we've had a few periods of downtime in the last week, as well as some problems with the forum database.
No data has been lost, but if you feel like something's wrong or you have problems with anything on the site or forums, don't hesitate to tell an admin on the chat, or send us an email! |

 | New launcher released | |
A new version of the pesmagazine launcher has been released, making smoother PES 2008 gameplay easier to set up than ever before.
Check it out here! |
|
|
|
 | PES 2008 with no lag? | |
With Konami obviously inept to fix the problem, it looks like Angel777 and Orangesea from pesmagazine.net have developed a tool to allow for a direct connection setup eliminating the lag almost completely.
Try it out here!
Don't forget to give feedback how it works for you, and maybe get some players back that had given up on PES 2008 for PC already! |

|
 | World Leagues over | |
The world leagues are over! The winners are:
North division: TurkMania playing RSC Anderlecht
South division: Knight8 playing AEK Athens
Well done guys! |
|
|
|
 | No 2on2 again | |
Unfortunately, the 2on2 tournament didn't get enough players yesterday again. Our original plan of stringing several mini tournaments together for a bigger one obviously doesn't work, so the recent 2on2 will be counted as regular mini tournament. Further mini tournaments are possible, but you'll have to declare your interest on the forums to see it happen. Thanks to urke who spent three evenings on this, at least we got one tournament played.
On a different note, the World Leagues are almost over, you have until this Sunday to get some or all of your remaining games played. For those who made no effort getting their games played - shame on you, and don't expect to participate in future events. For the rest, we hope you had some fun and that it was worth setting it up for you. |

 | 2on2 Mini Tournament tonight! | |
PES6 2on2 Mini Tournament series
TONIGHT (Thursday, 28 Feb.)
at 20:00 CET in #evo-tourney!
As we didn't get enough players last Saturday, tonight's response may decide whether we continue this in the future or not. If you're interested but just can't make it tonight, post here. |

|
|
 | PES6 2on2 again tomorrow | |
The first PES6 tournament yesterday was a successful event, with eight players competing with category 3 national teams. Our first winners are TurkMania and DrMarijuana beating the skyrunner/FrSl team over both legs. All results can be found in the related tournament thread.
If you missed the fun, don't forget it all happens again tomorrow, 23 Feb shortly after 20:00 evo time. If you already played yesterday, be there anyway as you might get a second chance if not enough new players show up. |

The PES6 2v2 Mini Tournament Series are starting Thursday, 21st Feb at 20:00 evo time (CET), which is tomorrow night! The second evening is this Saturday, same time and place. A lot of you posted their interest, so you better be there!
The World Leagues are now all open, you should get all your games played until Sunday, March 2nd. If you haven't played your World League Cup game yet, you should make a serious effort getting hold of your opponent. |

|
 | Old school anyone? | |
The new season has started, congrats to Mysterio90 winning season 34. We'll keep the two months per season setting for now.
The World Leagues are developing well after the usual fallout at the beginning. Dunc04 has written weekly round-ups for both the North League and the South League - check them out!
Finally, chances are good we'll see a PES6 2on2 tournament kicking off soon - if you want to be in, be quick to put your name down in this thread! |

The sign-ups for the PC leagues are closed, it's team picking time. If you signed up, keep an eye on the thread below and pick your team when it's your turn. We'll keep the sign-up threads for XBox 360 and PS3 open for a bit longer, but they won't happen with less than eight players each.

We're planning to close the sign-ups next wekend, and the leagues will only start if a reasonable amount of players wants to join, so tell your friends! |

|
 | Happy new year! | |
Yeah I know, I'm late. We're happy to see that the daily games count has increased lately, so what does this mean for us in the long run?
First, we're planning to bring back the mini tournaments on a more regular basis, so if you want to compete, make sure you're in the chat on Sunday evenings so we have a fair amount of players to get this going. We're also thinking about launching new leagues soon, maybe even one for PC and XBox 360 each, so watch this space!
Speaking of XBox and PS3 players, if you want the mini tournaments and leagues happen for you, make yourselves heard by posting on the forums, and maybe get a few more players in. We have a good history of leagues and tournaments for PC versions, but these only work well with your input and ideas. |
|
|
|
 | Merry Christmas! | |
Alright, so Konami screwed us over, but still we managed to get the PES 2008 Christmas Tournament done, congratulations kingofpro! Trophy coming soon, I promise!
In case you haven't noticed - the current season does NOT end at the end of this month, but on January 31. Future PES 2008 seasons will probably be two months or longer as well, depending on our games count.
But enough of PES for now - go celebrate! |
|
|
|
 | First PES 2008 PC tournament! | |
We're trying to launch the first PES 2008 tournament within the next days, thanks to our tournament host kingofpro. If you'd like to participate, be quick and put your name down here!
To our PES4 players - we were gone for quite a while, so if you want more opponents to choose from, tell other PES4 or WE8I players online that we're back in business!

|
|
|
|
 | PES4/WE8I ladder back on evo! | |
Yes it's true, we're kicking it old-school and reviving these old classics. We originally switched it off because we had too much work administrating it, but these days there's no reason to not have it running parallel to the regular PES 2008 ladder.
To play evo-league games, you should download the PES4Online launcher. We still have our own evo-league room there, which is actually the channel #pes4online_evo-league on Quakenet, so you can idle around there parallel to being in our regular #evo-league channel. Only games played in that room are valid evo-league games!
Depending on your default game version, you'll see the standings for your ladder on the front page. Of course, you can always browse the full standings of the PES4/WE8I ladder and the regular ladder.
All further details and comments go HERE. Have fun! |

|
 | PC patch 1.20 released! | |
|
 | Yes, we're still here | |
Two weeks have passed, and still we don't get the online experience we expected. One might think Konami would finally put some additional manpower (paid for by OUR money) into fixing the problem, but as usual, this doesn't seem to be the case. To the decreasing number of players who didn't already return their game, let's hope for another patch that fixes the most annoying issues.
We had some nice new additions planned for this year, but with the current amount of games it doesn't make sense to put work into it. We'll give it another few weeks to see if things improve, and if it makes sense to launch major leagues and tournaments anytime soon. Until then, stick around, and we hope you'll get some enjoyable games played. |
|
|
|
 | PES 2008 online? You wish. | |
As usual, Konami chooses to annoy their loyal customers with serious online problems days after the game release. If you're lucky to get a game played, beating both the connection issues and ridiculous game speed problems, well done!
For our newcomers and especially those not playing the PC version - make sure you and your opponent are in the chat before the game, or at least visit the site before you start the game so your name appears in the 'Last online' bar below. We check the games against the access and chat files, so your games may be deleted when there's any doubt. We may also request a screenshot from your 'Last 20 games' screen if there are problems.
I hope this doesn't spoil your fun - if you like it here, be sure to tell players you meet online about us! |
|
|
|
 | All PES 2008 versions now supported! | |
Konami are bringing up their servers, and it's only a matter of time until we get the first games played, so we're happy to announce that you can now report PES 2008 games on evo-league playing either the PC, PS2, PS3 or PC version. The games go in the same ladder as PES6 games for now.
To report games, don't forget you need to edit your profile and select the game versions you have - I also recommend changing the 'Default Game' setting there.
Lastly, share your experiences and problems in the PES 2008 - Online thread as we still need to figure out what lobbies etc. to use - see you there! |

|
 | PES 2008 out this week | |
The long wait is almost over - PES 2008 is going to be available for all major platforms later this week. Apparently it's already being sold in some shops in the Netherlands too.
As usual, we're working on the site to enable playing evo-league games with these new versions as soon as Konami brings up their servers. In addition, we're trying to add new things that will make this another fun PES/WE year for you here.
While you're waiting, don't forget to take a final look at some PES6 beauties by voting in our Goal Of The Season 31 competition! |

 | 50th Mini-Tournament coming up this Sunday! | |
To mark our 50th Mini-Tournament here at evo-league, we have a special day of tournaments scheduled this Sunday, including the main event starting at around 7:30pm evo-time in #evo-tourney. For all the details on how to qualify, click here!
Also, our latest tournament winners have received their medals for their achievements and taken the pictures to show them off: Knockout for his Champions League success, Cobretti for his 5 mini-tournament victories and Scorpion for his Rest of the World Cup 2 win. Look out for the new tournaments starting as soon as PES 2008 is out to win your own medal! |

|
|
 | Season 32 started | |
Another season over, congrats to TurkMania aka Borg for winning the ladder two times in a row with a winning percentage of 82,6% and only 190 scored goals in 76 games. Also noteable how LeeM grabbed a medal for 6th place with 173 goals scored against him - but you can all see it browsing the previous seasons section yourself.
The SNL has come to an end as well, and it's no surprise the winner is Knockout with Sweden! Your medal is on the way, don't forget to show off and post an image of yourself with it!
And finally, you can now enhance your PES 2008 demo with the Time Expander and Kitserver 7 to enable up to four controllers as posted here - thanks kingofpro! |

 | PES 2008 Demo! | |
Everyone's getting pretty bored with PES6, so it's good news that the PES 2008 demo was released on the XBox Live marketplace a few days ago. If you missed it, you can read what we think about it in the PES 2008 - Demo Impressions thread.
The PC demo is OUT NOW! Use this torrent link to download. Check winningelevenblog.com and our chat for more download locations, and don't forget to post your own review after you played it!
Having played the 360 demo myself and looking at the possibility that PES 2008 PC is going to have a LAN option, I think we're looking at a bright league future. |

|
 | What's new pussycat? | |
Just like in previous years, these ladder months are a rather calm affair with many players taking a rest before the next game version is out. However, that doesn't detain us from keeping our events and awards going.
In the awards department, you can go vote for the Goal of the Season 30 - as usual, a lot of great goals to see there. Also up is the 5th newcomer award, a good chance to encourage the best new players to stay here.
Our two major events at the moment are the European Nation Combination and the Summer National League which ends this month. There's also a space up for grabs in the SNL if you want to give it a try. As usual, please follow the deadlines and get your games played! |
|
|
|
 | Transfer patch now allowed! | |
With the transfer window closing, it is now allowed to use a transfer patch to play evo-league games. Before you play with it, you MUST READ AND FOLLOW THIS or you risk a ban!

Finally, Burnzey recorded a great new radio show just a few days ago - you can listen to this and previous shows on the podcast page. |
